3 Ways to Cozy Up Your Airbnb

Commercial Interior Design Services in D.C. Metro Area

Airbnb Interior Design Services in Washington D.C.Every owner of an Airbnb shares the same goal: to make guests want to stay in their space. There are a lot of different ways you could style your Airbnb (a tropical oasis or Parisian-inspired loft, perhaps) but when you think about it, many of the vacationers and vagabonds you want to attract are looking for something a little more comforting—a sort of home away from home.

If you want to draw these travelers to your space, you need to offer them a cozy haven where they can cure their jet lag and retreat to for some R&R after a long day of exploring a new city. As always, our designers have some tips to help you do just that!

1) Add rustic elements.

Rustic style is known for its homey vibes and inviting charm. While you don’t want to overdo it and risk turning off guests who aren’t into a full-on pastoral getaway, adding a few rustic touches can bring some much-needed warmth to your Airbnb.

Integrating the signature wooden tones and vintage accents of this interior design style is a quick and effective way to harness that cozy feel without going overboard. A wooden coffee table, antique light fixtures, and a bookshelf full of favorite classics can do just the trick.

2) Incorporate texture.

The right tactile touches to your design will emphasize the comfort of your space and give your Airbnb a personality that welcomes. Think soft, natural textures that make guests feel like they’ve just entered a luxe sanctuary they never want to leave. Plush, leather, knit, quilt, wicker, faux-fur, and even luscious greenery are just a few examples. Area rugs are the easiest way to add texture to a room, but you can also incorporate different textured linens, décor, and even wallpaper!

3) Opt for calm, soothing colors.

Cool color tones relax the senses and make your space feel more intimate. If you want to make your Airbnb cozier, consider redoing your color scheme with cooler undertones. You can use cool neutrals if you’re going for a more universal appeal or build on shades of blue, green, and violet to achieve the ambiance you’re looking for without toeing the line of gloomy. Those wooden tones in your rustic elements will help supply the warmth you need to balance these hues too. The darker and deeper the color, the more dramatic the effect.
